- What exactly am I buying from ReelGlass?
- You're buying an authentic, backlit pane of vintage casino glass — pulled from a retired Nevada slot machine cabinet and rebuilt into a wall-ready LED light box by Pablo. Each ReelGlass piece includes the original silk-screened reel-strip or belly glass, a hand-milled clear stock #1 hardwood frame, a warm-white diffused LED panel, an inline rocker switch, 6 ft of black braided cord, mounting hardware, and signed provenance papers documenting the casino of origin (when known), the era, and the edition number. Every piece is one-of-one — no reprints, no reproductions, no two alike.
- Is the glass real vintage casino slot machine glass?
- Yes — 100% authentic. Every pane is salvaged from retired Nevada slot cabinets: Fremont Street downtown properties, Las Vegas Strip casino back rooms, Reno operator warehouses, and Mojave route-operator inventory. Original wear is preserved on purpose — bulb scorches, halos from decades of incandescent heat, hand-painted touch-ups, regulator stickers, and screen-print crackle all stay. We never reprint, reproduce, or simulate aged glass. If a piece has been restored in any way, it's disclosed in writing on the provenance card.
- How does the LED backlight work, and is it safe?
- Each ReelGlass sign uses a low-heat, warm-white (2700–3000K) LED panel mounted behind the glass and diffused with frosted acrylic to mimic the soft glow of the original incandescent bulbs. It runs on standard 110–120V US household current, draws only 4–8 watts (less than a phone charger), stays cool to the touch, and is UL-listed component-rated. A heavy-duty inline rocker switch on the cord lets you flip it on and off without unplugging. A single 15-amp wall outlet can safely power up to 25 signs daisy-chained on a power strip.
- How do I hang a ReelGlass sign on the wall?
- Every ReelGlass piece ships ready to hang. D-ring hangers are installed standard on the back of the hardwood frame — just two drywall anchors or studs and you're done. French cleat mounting is available free on request for heavier belly-glass and topper panels, and is recommended for anything over 12 lb or for plaster walls. The 6 ft black braided cord exits the bottom-center of the frame so it falls cleanly behind furniture or runs straight to a nearby outlet. Detailed hanging instructions and a paper template ship in every box.
- How heavy are the signs and how big do they get?
- Reel-strip pieces (the tall narrow ones showing cherries, bars, and sevens) typically measure 4×11 in to 6×14 in and weigh 4–9 lb framed. Belly glass (the wide rectangular pay-table panels) ranges from 12×18 in to 18×26 in and weighs 12–20 lb. Topper and marquee panels — the big crown pieces — can reach 24×36 in and 25 lb. Exact dimensions, weight, and depth (typically 1.75 in) are listed on every product page so you can plan wall space before ordering.
- What's covered under the ReelGlass lifetime warranty?
- Lifetime coverage on the LED panel, inline rocker switch, cord, and internal wiring — for as long as you own the piece. If anything electrical ever fails, Pablo replaces the panel or switch free of charge; you cover return shipping one way and we cover the return leg. The hardwood frame is covered for 5 years against warping or joint failure under normal indoor conditions. The vintage glass itself is irreplaceable and not covered against breakage after delivery — handle with care, and never hang in direct sunlight, bathrooms, or unconditioned garages.
- Do you ship internationally, and what about duties?
- Yes — international shipping is available on request to Canada, the UK, EU member states, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. Because each piece is heavy, fragile, and irreplaceable, we quote insured freight individually rather than offering a flat rate. Email pablosreelglass@gmail.com or call (985) 630-3775 with your address and the piece you want before checking out. Import duties, VAT, GST, and customs brokerage fees are the buyer's responsibility and are billed by the carrier on delivery.
- How long does shipping take inside the US?
- In-stock ReelGlass pieces ship within 3 business days of payment clearing. US ground transit averages 5–9 business days from ship date depending on coast — East Coast 5–7, Midwest 4–6, West Coast 7–9 from our Louisiana studio. Every domestic shipment includes a custom-built double-walled crate, foam suspension, fragile and this-side-up labeling, full-value insurance, and tracking. Commissioned pieces and rewires take 3–5 weeks from deposit to ship date. Rush production is available for an upcharge — call to discuss.
- What is the return and refund policy?
- In-stock ReelGlass pieces carry a 14-day return window from delivery date. The piece must be returned in its original crate, in original condition, with all paperwork. Buyer covers return freight and re-insurance; once we inspect and confirm condition, we refund the full purchase price minus original outbound shipping. Commissioned pieces, custom rewires, and international orders are final sale. Damage in transit is covered 100% by insurance — photograph the crate before opening and file with us within 48 hours of delivery.
- Can I send my own slot machine glass to be framed and lit?
- Yes — custom commissions are open year-round. Send clear photos of both sides of your glass, rough dimensions, and any history you have through the commission page or text Pablo directly at (985) 630-3775. We'll quote the build, mill a matching hardwood frame, wire the LED panel, mount the glass with archival cushioning, and ship it back ready to plug in. Typical commission turnaround is 3–5 weeks. A 50% deposit secures your slot in the queue. Commissioned pieces are final sale.
- Can I see ReelGlass pieces in person before buying?
- Yes. Studio visits to Pablo's Palace are by appointment only in southeast Louisiana — call (985) 630-3775 or email pablosreelglass@gmail.com to schedule. We also bring a rotating selection of pieces to vintage gaming, slot machine, and casino-collectible shows across the Gulf South and Southwest each year.
